Since 1st January 2005 it has been a requirement for the majority of electrical work carried out to comply with Part P of the Building Regulations and for that work to be carried out by a qualified electrician and notified to the appropriate Building Control department.

Often a person buying a house is not aware of these issues until after they have completed and moved in, whereas a simple safety check, if arranged with the vendors, can provide the purchaser with a report giving the condition of the wiring and any remedial actions necessary.
